Dating The Widow

By Joseph Matthews

I had an interesting dating experience a few months back that I'd like to share with you. She was a stunning young woman, with a great personality, although she came across as very reserved. Something seemed off. She was preoccupied. Many guys I know might mistake this for some sort of scheming, but experience told me this wasn't the case. I remained calm and found out the truth - she was a widow of a few months.

Often times, guys have to play a strong game with women. Understandably, it's part of the dating process these days, and I'll admit I do it too. This situation was different. It was not the time nor the place to act that way. I didn't have to get the "upper hand" - in fact, that would have been quite a nasty thing to do.

Needless to say, the whole experience was humbling, and I learned a few things that I'll share with you.

As I mentioned above, it's not a time to play the cut throat. You have to know that you aren't just here for a wild fling. You'll have to be very understanding of the situation. She isn't trying to put a guy through the grinder, like many women do. She's trying to feel normal, and to move on with her life. You are dealing with an emotionally wounded person, so act appropriately.

So once you know that this is the case, you have a choice as to whether or not you want to continue with the relationship. Consider what you are getting yourself into before moving in. If she has children, it can be even tougher in this situation. You won't be a bad person for leaving her under these conditions.

Once your decision is made, and if you decide to stay, understand a few things. First, you won't be able to replace the husband. He was taken from her. So don't even try. The process of her moving on is harsh and uneven, so you have to respect that and allow the grief to run it's course.

This can be tough, as any little thing can remind her of the deceased. That is why you need to make a decision and stay with it. A perfectly great night can be ruined in a moment, and there is little to be done about it.

Something else to remember is this: allow her to escape this issue, even if for a short time. Be an outlet for some fun. She'll move on quicker, and the night will seem like any other date. Just push for fun, some excitement, but be mindful. Any don't bring HIM up. That's the last thing either of you wants. If she wants to talk about it, let her, and move on from the topic when you are ready.

In light of what I've written above, I think it goes without saying that you shouldn't push to get her into bed. That should be something she controls. Flirting, and letting her know she is desired is a good thing, but understand that she'll move on that when ready.

Over time, things will change. Just have some tact, and treat her like a normal human being. The romance could move from there, but understand the situation and let the chips fall where they may. It will be a better situation for both of you. - 15437

Getting Ready For Valentine's Day

By Joseph Matthews

How was Valentine's Day, this last time? Was it good or bad? Was your evening fun? And... were you with a special girl?

If it was a good night, congratulations! I hope your success continues into the rest of this year.

If you were alone, or with someone you didn't prefer to be around, then don't give up hope - you have an entire year to make things better.

The budding question is: What can I do in one year to improve my chances of having a wonderful date for next year, and possible a great girl friend that I can spend a lot of time with? Ask yourself that.

I prefer a three part attack. The three parts are as follows - myself, my interactions with others, and my social circle. I'll get into each of them, and you can analyze each factor, and see how you can improve.

The first part is yourself. There are abundant ways to improve the self. An entire industry worth, in fact. Let's look at what can make you more attractive and improve your chance with women, however.

You can improve your looks, more than likely. Are you in shape? This well help you. A well toned body is good. It's NOT paramount in success with women. But it can help your odds dramatically, and that is what we are looking for. Take up a simple exercise class, three times a week. Or try to spend time outdoors. walk, jog, bike. Weightlifting can help too by raising your testosterone.

Are you up to date with fashion? Look at how you dress. Are your clothes several years old? How about your hairstyle? Start with your hair. Go to a good hairstylist, and see what he or she can do for you. Take the inspiration you'll get from a decent hair style and translate it into a good look.

Hit up a nice clothing store, and try on some new clothes. Take your time! You want to really get a feel of what you can pull off.

Internal improvements are probably the greatest way to improve your love life. Telling you how to get past these issues is well beyond the scope of this article. If you go to my website, I can help you from there. There are other sources too. The key is to work on your self esteem and self confidence.

Improving any of the above mentioned things will literally force the world to see you differently.

Next, you'll want to take a look at how you interact with other people. We'll only cover some simple stuff here, as really improving things takes more time and effort. See my website for more, but for now, let's see the simple stuff.

Take the time to think about how you are addressing others. Is your voice resonant? Do you stand up straight? Do you look others in the eye when you address them? Do you have a firm handshake?

For your voice, I'd recommend buying a book or audio set. Take the time to follow the instructions, and really see if you can make your voice more resonant. Another recommendation would be a voice coach, if you can afford one and feel like you have a real issue.

For posture, see if you can take a workshop or some classes of yoga, Alexander Technique, or Feldenkrais method. Any of these will go a long way of helping you create a healthy posture, and allowing you to move more youthfully. And believe me, that's a big part of attraction. Watch a middle aged person move for 10 minutes. Then watch a 20 year old woman.

The other parts are easy. Practice looking other people in the eye while addressing them. Hold their gaze a little too long. They might look away. It's okay, go a bit outside of your comfort zone. The idea is to expand it.

With the handshake, just practice being firm. Easy enough, right? It will translate later on into greater self esteem, or the appearance thereof.

The last part of the changes you will want to make is with your social circle. It's pretty easy. Get out more! If you are already out a lot, take a look at where you are going. Is it the same place every night? Or the same crowd? Try new places with unknown people. The idea is to expand it outwards.

Work on the basics above, and this time next year you will be in a far better position as far as date potential goes. You might even have a choice of who to take. Good luck! - 15437

How To Get The Lowest Cost Funeral

By Jack Hammerson

Many senior citizens begin to consider their alternatives concerning burial costs after they reach a certain age, or when there is a death in the family. It is a very real concern. The price of burying a loved one has skyrocketed over the last ten years. The advertisements you see on TV tell us that we can hire a funeral director for about six thousand dollars. What they don't make clear is that price is their cost and does not include the cost of the burial vault, casket, the grave site and opening and closing the grave. The cost often tops $14,000.00.

There is a much cheaper way to be buried. Cremation is by far the cheapest way to bury a loved one. Most people shrink from the thought of cremation, worried they are doing something against their christian principles or that their bodies will not go to heaven if they cremate a loved one, or themselves. You need not worry. Please remember that your body does not go to heaven. It is your soul that goes to heaven. The body rots in the grave. So, if you have done anything, you have prevented the body from rotting.

Cremation is a very real alternative to burial for one very special reason; you can save thousands of dollars. For the elderly person living on a fixed income, spending thousands of dollars for a funeral is out of the question. They don't want to create more debt that will be left to their loved ones to pay. If they don't have the money to pay for a funeral, more often than not, they will be buried by Welfare in a cardboard coffin and a concrete vault that does not seal, letting water soak into the coffin and starting the rotting process faster than normal. None of us want to think of our loved ones rotting in the grave when we could have prevented it.

What can we do to insure our loved ones remains are taken care of respectfully? The cheapest and most respectful way is to cremate the body. With cremation we don't have to buy anything, except an urn to keep the ashes in. There is no grave to buy, no casket or concrete vault to purchase and no opening and closing costs of hundreds of dollars on top of the grave costs. Cremation allows you to choose to keep your loved one with you or to scatter the ashes over an area that was special to him/her, such as a special fishing spot, or a beautiful wooded locale that was special to your loved one. Maybe he or she was an avid sailor and wanted their ashes spread over the sea. You can do that.

Cremation is the lowest cost funeral you can possibly have. The average cost of cremation is less than $200.00. Some states allow you to provide your own box in which to cremate the body, saving you even more money. It's your choice, thousands versus a couple hundred dollars. Which is most affordable for you? - 15437

Beyond The Attraction

By Joseph Matthews

There has been a lot of debate about how attraction governs our relationships. You might have been in this situation: You are dating a beautiful woman, things are great, and you are having fun. Eventually, somewhere down the line, the attraction fades, and you realize you barely know this person. The relationship tanks.

You might be asking yourself how this happens, and how you can prevent it. I'll address both of those questions.

There are several components to attraction. The one we all know is the physical side of things - how she looks, in other words. While it is what generally reels us in, it is also the first thing to fade when the loss of attraction starts. Sometimes we make matters worse by focusing on what we don't like about the person, to boot. This only makes matters worse.

For a man, I think it's hardwiring. We're born to be problem solvers. So we look at what we don't like about us and try to fix it. Unfortunately, a bit of that thinking leaks over into our relationships. It can be a bad thing, but know this - physical attraction can be resparked, and it's a wonderful thing when it does.

We'll get to that later. Let's look at the other components of attraction. The next part has to do with physical closeness. A close companion to the first part, it has to do with exciting our sense of touch.

Have you ever been with a woman who merely had to touch you to get you excited? It can be exhilarating. The touch says she wants you, is attracted to you, and later on, loves you.

It's a reassuring feeling, and serves to deepen our caring about the other person.

The next part is tricky. It has to do with our competence. In any relationship, you will have some sort of balance between the aspects each person brings forward. In general, you have people of the same "caliber" attracted to each other. It's a matter of what is important to them - intelligence, physical prowess, social skills, etc.

Look at celebrities, and why they are together. There is a reason - a famous person tends to be intimidating to someone who is off the street. Another famous person has reassurance of themselves and is less likely to be intimidated. This quality is the least important, however. Some people just don't care or aren't intimidated by the stature of someone else.

The next part is that of mutual liking. Simply put, if they like you, and are not a needy type, odds are that you'll like them more than if the feeling wasn't reciprocated.

How you operate together as a whole is the last part, and can make or break attraction. Do you complement the other person? Like attracts like, but opposites attract too. Take a look at how the whole relationship works together. You might be an outgoing extrovert, and her a shy type. But you agree in most of your views. Or you can reverse that situation. It's all about how you mesh together.

Now that we've outlined what compromises attraction, let's look at what we can do to keep it going.

The first thing to remember is this: if it is going to fade, it will fade. That goes for either person. You can try and keep them attracted, but it might not always work.

On the physical end, there is much you can do. The first is obvious - physically try and keep yourself in shape. Many people slip during a relationship, and get out of shape. Or fail to take care of themselves. Your mate will take note of this. A bit of maintenance goes a long way.

Next, try to be objective about your relationship, and focus on what you DO like about your mate physically. This can't stop physical attraction from fading but you'll appreciate them more.

Another part of this is much harder to change, but it helps most of these aspects. Allow her to be herself. Sounds simple, but we find ways to control, and keep a firm grip on the other person. Often, out of fear that they'll leave us. It can be a self fulfilling prophecy. If you show yourself to be confident, and have taken a great interest in her as a person, she'll find it hard to stray.

Just allow her to do things that allow her to be her. If she's a flirt, let her! If you've done what you need to do, she'll come back to you.

As far as liking goes, if you do your diligence, and take an interest in her as a person, you'll find that you have someone who will remain loyal to you, and attracted as well.

If you can find out how you complement her as a person, then you are well ahead of the curve in that department. A good chunk of relationships fail due to the couples inability to settle their differences in an acceptable manner. This is how they complement each other - finding the opposition in each other, and instead of finding hatred, they thrive on it!

Take a good long look at these factors in your relationships, and be willing to work hard on them. Attraction can span years, even decades. Good luck! - 15437

Attraction: Will It Hold Up?

By Joseph Matthews

I've been reading a lot lately about the role of attraction in our relationships. I'm sure you've been in this situation. You are dating a sizzling hot woman, things look great, and you are having fun. Then you realize, after some time, that you aren't physically attracted to her any longer and things just fall apart.

You might be asking yourself how this happens, and how you can prevent it. I'll address both of those questions.

Understand that there are several types of attraction. There is the physical part, which everyone knows. That tends to fade over time, no matter how good looking she is. And to make things worse, we often tend to focus on what we DON'T like about a person, rather than what we do.

In general, you have people of the same "caliber" attracted to each other. It's a matter of what is important to them - intelligence, physical prowess, social skills, etc.

Take a celebrity couple, for example. They are provided the reassurance that stardom brings on a daily basis, so they don't intimidate each other, at least not on a massive scale. A person off the streets can't say the same thing, most of the time. Luckily, this is the least important and influential part of attraction.

Mutual liking is the next component, and it's easy to see. If someone likes you, you tend to like them more than if they didn't reciprocate the feeling. The exception is if that person turns out to be needy, then things get a bit scary in that aspect.

The last part can be confusing. You have to be complementary in some way to the other person. This is not to say you like everything they like, but that is part of it. As they say, opposites attract. So look at how you complement another person - do you share beliefs? Is one person shy, and the other person a bit of a live wire? Overall, look at how you mesh... it will all make sense.

Now that we've outlined what compromises attraction, let's look at what we can do to keep it going.

The first thing to remember is this: if it is going to fade, it will fade. That goes for either person. You can try and keep them attracted, but it might not always work.

As far as liking goes, if you do your diligence, and take an interest in her as a person, you'll find that you have someone who will remain loyal to you, and attracted as well.

If you can find how you mesh together early on, then your attraction will probably thrive in the long run. Most relationships fail in part due to this. Many, many couples fail to reconcile differences in civil fashion. Being able to do so IS how you complement the other person. Find the opposing parts, and learn to thrive off the energy created, instead of allowing it to dissolve things!

With some hard work and changes in you focus, you can allow attraction to expand for years or even decades. Take a look at an elderly couple for proof. Focus on the good, and good luck! - 15437

Why Must I Try For A Credit Score Of 700

By Frank Froggatt

It's kind of discomfiting that to the government and other establishments we are known a just a number. The same applies whenever we go down to the bank to apply for a loan or a mortgage if you don't have a score of at least 700 then you don't have a good score, and probabilities are you will run into troubles getting your sought-after money.

But what is a credit score? Creditors use a "credit score" to ascertain your creditworthiness as established by your past history. Credit scores for the most part range from between 340 to 800 and if you score isn't at least around the 700 range you can either reckon on paying a higher rate of interest if it does get approved or if it is too low being refused entirely.

You might think that this is an unjust system but in truth it is the only viable way that a prospective lender can get a feel for who you are and if indeed you are responsible. They pretty much have you over a barrel on this one, it is either you agree to their conditions or you don't get those needed funds.

There are many Americans in the United States who possess good credit scores. The cause of these good credit scores is the basics of not over spending and paying their bill on time.

If you don't have a wonderful credit score then chances are you will need to find another way to get your bills paid and make ends meet.A good idea will be to talk to your creditor about the situation so they can come up with a payment plan so this will never appear on their permanent record. If you've had a reasonable credit score and you don't want to see it destroyed then this is probably the best decision for you.

If you are packing a lot of extra charge cards you should get rid of all of them except for one .. You should keep the one that you have had the longest as this will look good on your credit score.

One mistake some people make especially when their credit history is less than 3 years old is opening a new account even when it is not necessary. Try to use common sense when dealing with credit if you can't afford it don't get it.

If your credit score is just a few points from 700, look at the document and see if everything stated there is correct. Who knows, you might get lucky and find out that there was an error made. If you do find a mistake you must get a hold of the credit agency and let them know about it. This is called filing a dispute. Send them all of the proof of the error so that they can successfully investigate the error and get it corrected for you.

In order to get your credit score you will need to pay for it but you can get your report for free which is all you need to find out if there are any errors. Contact Equifax,Transunion, or Experian for your report, these are the 3 credit bureaus that monitor all reported credit transactions. The way that the different credit bureaus score you differs between each one but all of the information on the reports should be about the same. This changes yearly so get another in one year and compare the results versus the year before..

With the much coveted credit score of 700 or higher you most invariably qualify for the lowest interest rates available. You can use that low interest money in any way you choose be it for schooling, a mortgage, or even home improvements. Achieving this score is not an easy task, it takes dedication and hard work, you can achieve it just be wise and use good judgement.

Don't even ask for a loan if you don't already know what your score is.Being aware of your score will save you any undo embarrassment in the event of issues on your credit report. - 15437
