Her Guide to Buying Valentine Gifts for Him

By Art Barron

Men have the advantage at Valentine's Day. All they have to do is choose between flowers, chocolates, and jewelry. It's not as easy for women to pick a gift for their men. But then, what woman can say no to the challenge of shopping?

Here are the some choices for your guy this Valentines Day:

Chocolate-y goodness. Guys love the sweet stuff too! There are even specialty chocolate stores that have "special blends" for your guy. Think about it - you can give nature's aphrodisiac to your man.

Watches. Steel wristwatches are always classy and can be used on various occasions. You can pick your guy something practical; a model perfect for his everyday grind. Or you can go for the dress watches; show pieces for the more formal occasion. Think James Bond.

Sleepwear. Picking something for a man to wear in bed is almost as good as shopping for yourself. In fact, you can even buy something for yourself! No man in his right mind would refuse the gift of lingerie with you in it. Or, you can be thoughtful and give him a nice set of pajamas.

Gadgets. Now, you've seen your guy stop and drool over a window display now and again, and more often than not, it's an electronics display. Whether it's the latest cellphone, laptop, music player, or gaming console, your guy is sure to fall over your feet in adoration and worship if you give it to him. Just make sure you've got a heavy bit of cash stashed away. If not, you can always get accessories for the gadgets he already has like earphones or speakers.

Yummy for his Tummy. If you can cook for your guy, whether it is a hearty meal or a sweet dessert, you're sure to hook the guy. If you can't cook, you can always get him a food basket stocked with his favorite pastries, meats, cheeses, wines, coffees, and junk food.

Go sporty. Take a trip and try out a new sport together. Maybe go bungee jumping, kayaking or mountain climbing. It's a perfect way to de-stress plus you two can get to spend quality time together. If you both are not the active type, you can just buy two tickets to his favorite game and watch together.

A lazy day. You can give your man a great Valentine's Day present by simply giving him a break. Allow him one day to be lazy so he can relax and not think about anything. You can bring him breakfast in bed, do his chores, and be his slave for the day. He'll appreciate the rest.

Something just for him. Now this is one present that will require you to be a little creative and original. Make a scrapbook of all your photos, or fill a journal with your relationship's memorable thoughts and experiences. If you can, use your talents to your advantage by doing something you're good at. Sketch a portrait of him, compose a song, or write a sweet love letter. Don't be embarrassed by what you want to do. Your man will appreciate it, even he doesn't show it all that much.

Indulge, Indulge, Indulge. Nothing says I love you to your man other than giving into his little pet hobbies and giving him something that's related to that. If he's into basketball, give him tickets to the next hot game. If he's into books, the newest hit novel, or an old one he's been looking for would be a great gift. A guy would love nothing more than to have his likes valued during Valentine's! - 15437
