Bright Celebrations with Garden and Spring Wedding Favors

By Aaron H.

Spring is a popular time to get married, and deservedly so. The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and there's a feeling of newness to everything. What better time to strike out on a new adventure with the one you love?

Whether your wedding is very traditional or decidedly unique, the ever-popular outdoor spring wedding is a natural choice. A beautiful garden in May could feature the bride in white and the groom in a nice tuxedo, or both in Victorian attire, or in Lord of the Rings elf costumes. The sunny, flowery atmosphere gives cheer and joy to any such happy gathering, and guests will always feel comfortable.

There are a few questions you should ask yourself before you start looking for wedding favors. Some of these questions include: How many people will be attending? This will affect how much you will be able to spend on each person's favors. How much do you want to spend on all the favors combined? It's a good idea to pick a number ahead of time and really try to stick to it; otherwise you might end up spending much more than you wanted to. Do you want to give out one more expensive gift, or a few smaller gifts? Again, this is important to decide on ahead of time if you want to stay on budget. How important is the packaging/ presentation of the favors? Sometimes the gift bag or box can be almost as expensive as the gift itself, so try to plan ahead for that. Will the favors have a particular theme? Even if you don't have a set theme, you might want to opt for something springy or garden-themed to suit the season. (Think flowers, butterflies, ladybugs, etc.)

Because of the common conception of spring as the time of rebirth and beauty, this season tends to be the most significant for weddings. Perhaps it's the message of a union between two people beginning a new life together. Perhaps it's the shedding of old habits and hopes for a brighter, love injected future. Whatever the case, we couldn't, as the audience, be more pleased. The vibrant colors of the season and the regrowth of the land awaken us from the weary winters. And love is always a nice pick-me-up from our chaotic lives.

Remember, if you don't find exactly what you're looking for and you have some time to spare before the big day, you can always take a look at your local craft store for inspiration. You may be able to put together a gift or custom wrapping for a fraction of the price (and no shipping costs!) Plus, your guests are certain to appreciate the personal touch. It could even be something as simple as hand-stamping a pretty design on a personalized card or tucking a few pretty dried or fabric flowers in with the gifts.

Clearly, for those interested in the joyful tradition of a spring garden wedding, there is no shortage of ideas for garden wedding favors from the whimsical to the tasty to the useful. A variety of well-chosen spring wedding favors or garden wedding favors for your guests will surely do a great deal to please beloved friends and family. - 15437
