What Is Speed Dating

By Jason King

Unlike normal first dates where you are stuck with one person right through the evening, speed dating has been created to allow a group of singles the chance to date each other in the same evening in a bar or club for up to 8 minutes each mini-date.

Speed dating has become a popular way for singles to meet because it is cost effective. For the same price as a night out you get to meet around 25 singles in the same evening, and increase your chances of meeting someone.

Firstly, you will have to register for a speed dating event in your area. This can easily be done online with your credit card. All you need to do is read some reviews online to find a successful speed dating event organizer in your area.

Once you've found an organizer your registration takes a few minutes. Registration should be sent well in advance so that the organizers are able to accommodate you in the next event.

The meeting consists of at least 20 singles, so you can meet a large number of new people. For each date you'll have around 3 to 8 minutes so you will have to be lightening quick to provide as much information about yourself as possible. The time of your dates will depend on the organizers you go with. Some organizers like 3 minute dates where others prefer 8 minute dates.

The last step is to provide a list of names of those persons who you are interested to meet again. You'll be given a form to fill in when you arrive at the event. You can even log on to their web site and enter the names of persons you wish to see again. The organizers will provide the matching couples with details so you can contact each other afterwards.

Your night out is fully guaranteed if you choose to go with the right party organizers. This is usually if you don't get a single match with anyone you'll get your next speed dating event free of charge. - 15437
