The Advantages of Being Single

By Joseph Matthews

Ask any single person, and they'll tell you - being single is MISERABLE.

Its natural for people to be social, to have others in our lives that we can share our experiences with. And the perfect example of this, of course, is having a partner in "love."

So many men become sad, lonely, and depressed due to the fact they're not in a relationship with a girl.

They think that once they finally find someone, they will be happy and all their troubles and bad feelings will disappear. If only they can find that one special woman to be the love of their lives, suddenly, everything will be okay!

It may be true that having someone special in your life can help add to your happiness and fulfillment. I believe that can occur and does occur when you find the right person that suits you.

But you also need to understand that being with another person brings up a whole different set of problems and emotions than being single does.

I've been around enough to witness that many, many people who are in relationships are completely MISERABLE. They're simply aren't happy in the slightest! In fact, they feel like they are in prison. Many of them are trapped and they'd give anything to be single. They'd give anything to be in the shoes of bachelorhood.

Too many guys are so desperate to find a woman, that they'll go with any girl who's even remotely interested in them - it doesn't matter if the girl is actually good for them or not! They just don't want to be alone.

The big disadvantage of getting into a relationship is that you can trap yourself in an unhappy situation because you think it's better than actually being single.

But being single is actually about having OPTIONS. It's about having the freedom to search for the woman that's going to actually make you happy!

When you look at things this way, being single is actually very beneficial, because you now can do what you need to do in order to find the perfect woman, as opposed to being trapped in unhappiness just for the sake of being in a relationship.

So many guys think being single stinks because they have NO IDEA how to find the right woman for them. They flounder in the dating scene, and they are afraid of getting rejected. So instead, they have to settle for what they CAN get, as opposed to going after what they truly want.

Use the time that you're single to your advantage!

- Meet as many women as you can, and play the field. Remember, you're not confined to just one woman when you're single!

- Do activities you enjoy doing. Too often, men in relationships have to ask permission to do the things they like, because they have responsibilities to their partner. You don't need to worry about this right now, so enjoy the freedom!

- Go out to places you couldn't go to if you had a girlfriend. Strip clubs come to mind. Taking a crazy vacation to an event like Hedonism. A weekend in Vegas with your single buddies. There are lots of opportunities if you know where to look.

- Focus on your career, education, fitness, and goals. Being in a relationship can distract you from your own dreams and aspirations. Being single gives you the time you need to focus on other things that are important to you.

- Try to improve yourself. In a relationship, most of your energy will be spent supporting your partner. When you're single, you can use that energy to get yourself to where you want to be!

So remember to enjoy the time that you are single when you next start to get down because you're not dating someone. Before long you'll be married and settled down. Enjoy it while you can. - 15437
