Who Should Use Homemade Acne Treatments?

By Stephen Harris

Acne is one of the most severe conditions that may affect the skin. It is painful, incurable and ugly. There's no wonder that everybody strives to stay acne-free for as long as possible.

Homemade acne treatments are the last refuge of people who tried everything else before with no definitive results. For example, honey, oatmeal and apples are among the natural things that seemed to work for many acne sufferers.

No remedy should be attempted without first asking your physician. If you try everything you hear about on your skin, you may end up with even more pimples, bigger inflammations and more frequent outbreaks.

During an acne outbreak, the skin should be left alone to heal by itself. No squeezing and scratching is allowed whatsoever. If you love your face and you want to see it clear in the future, don't forget to keep your hands still.

The acne treatment can consist of several substances, which can work together for healing your skin. Antibacterials will kill germs on your skin. Comedolytic drugs will peel your dead skin cells, they will open and drain your pores for a healthier look.

Anti-inflammatory medication will reduce swallowing, while antioxidants such as vitamins and minerals will accelerate the healing of your wounds and protect your skin against free radicals. Free radicals are responsible for aging human cells.

Never ever try to apply pressure on your pimples, in the attempt of getting them emptied of their content. This operation leaves permanent marks. Even cosmetic surgery may have a hard time in getting you rid of those scars. It is better to prevent this from happening.

What you eat may influence your acne outbreaks. Try to switch to a healthier way of life, with plenty of fruit and vegetables. Drink about 6-8 glasses of water every day and don't forget to wash your face thoroughly every evening. - 15437
