What Every Bride Needs to Know About Unique Wedding Invitations

By Doris Clayton

It sure is the age of the Internet, and you find many people who are going to get married, sending their wedding invitations via email. People find it quick, and definitely cost effective. But it takes out the fun in sending and having a traditional wedding invitation by post. And you can go in for some real unique wedding invitations.

Unfortunately, many couples have no clue when it comes to finding what they want when searching for something unique on their wedding invitations.

When most couples search for unique wedding invitations, perhaps someone else picks them out since most often they are traditional. The first thing you need to understand is your own personal style. When you know your style, it is not so hard to search for something that compliments your style.

There are different ways that your wedding invitations can be unique. Instead of thinking about what I was sending out as wedding invitations, and whether these were unique wedding invitations or not, I decided to look at it as part of my overall wedding stationary theme. This way I was able to coordinate everything including the bridal shower invitations and thank-you notes. I read somewhere that the wedding invitations are a representation of what the guests can expect from your wedding. Who would have thought?

That idea put a very different perspective on what I was looking for and how I wanted to present myself. I also thought about the colors I wanted because this can be so important. I decided to make the wedding stationary a complimentary color to the total wedding dcor. Since we are using peach and lavender for the colors, I found a wedding stationary that was a different color to match.

One idea for my unique wedding invitations that I found was the save the date magnet. This was much more effective to getting people there because they just put the magnet on the refrigerator and they remembered to mark it on their calendars.

You might like to find a unique font style to feature on your invitations that makes it stand out above the rest. One interesting idea is to choose an attractive font that others can easily read. This is very helpful if you are easy to become overwhelmed with details. Perhaps, you might like a blind embossed invitation that makes the letters appear to leap out of the invitation.

It is very important to make sure that you send out your save the date cards at least six months before your wedding so that people will be able to literally save the date. This will get things rolling so people will stay interested.

If you are having difficulty, making a selection of what you want on your wedding invitations you should browse around in stationary stores. Remember, stores that are wedding exclusive often have experts on hand that can help you create some unique wedding invitations. You should also take into account that you do not need to have extravagant wedding invitations to be unique; a simple and elegant style is all you need for your unique wedding invitations. - 15437
