Snake Venom For Arthritis

By Amy Clark

Dr. Nafthali Primor, of Shulov Institute for Sciences, Ltd. was the first to propose the venom of snakes as a potent natural method to relieve arthritis pain.

Primor and his R&D team have discovered potent chemicals present in the venom of various species of vipers, rattle snakes, and cobras. Such substances are effective analgesics for the chronic pain symptoms of a number of diseases, including cancer and especially arthritis which commonly leads to excessive pain.

Early Accounts of Snake Venom Use

Although Dr. Nafthali Primor's study was the first official statement of the curative properties of snake venom, this concept has been popular through time. Before Nafthali Primor published his research, reports of arthritis cure through snake bites were already prevalent.

The earliest publicized case was that of a sixty-six year old Englishman with chronic arthritis. Bitten by a snake, he proclaimed on the BBC news channel in 2002 that his finger joint pain was eliminated at least 3-4 weeks after the bite. Unfortunately, the pain returned afterward, initially only mildly for 2 months, and then returning in full force in the ensuing months. Soon enough, the snake bite phenomenon were noticed by some groups at that time.

Snake Venom and Dr. Nafthali Primor

Even at a young age, Dr. Nafthali Primor already showed a certain attraction to snakes. Primor soon because interested with the healing benefits of snake venom. This is perhaps why he was destined to ultimately uncover snake venom arthritis treatment methods.

Two decades ago, a Russian colleague by the name of Dr. Shulov told Dr. Primor that Russians have long used snake venom creams to manage aches and pains. This knowledge inspired Dr. Nafthali Primor to pursue the concept and do further research.

Snake Venom Arthritis Methods

The original pain analgesic invented was the VeP-3, which was taken from Palestinian Viper venom. Dr. Primor observed that of the thousands of molecules found in snake venom, no more than 4 to 5 molecules are in fact poisonous. Meaning, about 99 percent of snake venom is safe and thus can be harvested for a range of curative possibilities.

Nafthali Primor presently aims to complete a snake venom pain relief cream to specifically treat arthritis pain. He mentions as an example a "super aspirin" drug by Merck & Company called "Aggrastat", which effectively prevents blood clots and heart attacks. This medication is also derived from snake venom.

Thus far, snake venom arthritis methods still offer several possibilities. Researchers continue to devise methods through which snake venom can be safely and effectively used for various medicinal purposes. Scientific studies also aim to perfect a powerful cream that will completely eliminate arthritis. For the moment, while we wait for more discoveries in snake venom use, don't risk your own body by trying to get snake bites on your own. - 15437
