Flowers Say "I Love You!"

By Joanne Michaels

Since it's almost Valentine's Day, it's time to start thinking about what you are going to send that special person in your life. Whether you're a male or female, let's take a look at some ideas about Valentines flowers.

Have you ever wondered about this? Do women give Valentines flowers to men? Yes they do! But not necessarily a bouquet of flowers, which is what men usually like to send. Women send more masculine gifts like nuts and edible munchy things. A typical female-to-male gift might be something like a little basket filled with chocolates and nuts and fudges, with a single rose added. That has become notably common, so most florists have extended out in that direction.

What flower is the one that almost all Valentines want to receive? The red rose is by far the most loved, because it's the sign of love. There are those who feel that if you want to impart passionate love to your Valentine, a red rose is the one and only flower to send.

If you want to send something to a casual friend, a yellow rose imparts friendship. It's a warm, sweet gesture that sends a less passionate message than red. To convey the feeling of desire, select pink. It conveys a soft, compassionate feeling, and is probably more appropriate for someone that is a little more familiar than just a casual friend. A pink rose will warm her heart and awaken that gentle desire within her.

What other kind of flowers are typically sent from one Valentine to another on Valentine's Day? Lilies are exceptionally appreciated, because they are very scented and smell fantastic. Also very successful are mixed vases. A florist can make up a magnificent arrangement with daisies, tulips, chrysanthemums, orchids, and other flowers. Just as long as it looks delightful and communicates a romantic, loving sensation.

Do some people send live plants in place of cut flowers? Absolutely! There are several to choose from, including little mini rose plants. It's such a thoughtful way to manifest your love to your Valentine by sending something that will live on and on.

How much does it cost to have Valentines flowers delivered? You can reckon around $15 as a starting cost, while the average price settles in around $40, which will secure a lovely half dozen roses or a mixed vase. Delivery charges will be added on top of that. If money is a question, consider a cash and carry purchase. You can buy a dozen roses for roughly $20 to $30, then add all types of fillers. There are various really awesome greens that you can use to make your arrangement look superb. Arrange them in a pretty vase, and it will look dazzling. It's not going to be arranged like a professional does, but it will look gorgeous. It's a perfect way to go if you're on a tight budget.

If your budget is not tight, and you really want to impress your Valentine or special friend, you can spend up to $150, maybe even more.

As with most other products, you typically get what you pay for. A live flower purchased from a local discount merchant will obviously cost less, but the quality of the flower will not be as high as one from a florist. The flowers will not be as healthy, and as a result, will not last as long. Paying a bit more for healthy flowers is well worth it.

Valentine's Day is the day we like to celebrate romance, flowers, joy and love. What is the most sentimental thing you can do to convey your love to that special Valentine in your life? Send flowers, of course! Surprise her (or him) with a stunning gift of flowers! - 15437
