How To Keep Your Bodies Defenses High During Cold Season

By Chris Channing

Health is a concern for all of us. It is important that our bodies stay in the best shape possible, so that it can withstand the demands of daily life. General health is the basic things you must do to stay healthy and fit, and to avoid any sicknesses. There are plenty of simple ways to keep your body strong during the colder months, and all of it will benefit you the entire year round.

In the winter it tends to get cold. Unless you live somewhere that is typically warm, you need to keep yourself cozy. Thick socks, and proper clothing are a must for those that venture outside. Heat loss is a really good way to get sick, really fast. This is a general rule no matter who you are, so it is very important that you stay warm.

Drink a lot of liquids. Water may not seem appealing in the winter, but it's the best thing for you. Not coffee, not hot cocoa, but water. Even for general health, water is the best thing for your body. The fluids will keep all of your cells acting properly, and proper oxygen will circulate through your body. This is a good way to keep your body strong and your general health in tact.

Exercise not only makes you feel good when you are prone to winter doldrums, but it also keeps your body regulated. Exercise can also benefit you by burning off all of those extra holiday calories, so that you do not experience the weight gain that most people do after the big holiday season. Exercise keeps your heart rate going strong too, so that you get more circulation, and an overall general health boost.

Multi-vitamins containing a full range of vitamins that your body needs is a great way to jump start your general health. Be careful though, some vitamins cannot be soaked up into your system as quickly as others. You may need to take 2 pills depending on your weight and fitness and a few other factors that contribute to your general health. Vitamins also increase your body's ability to defend against environmental hazards and problems.

Sleep is the number one key for staying healthy. Its not just general health that it influences, but its your overall total body health. A good solid amount of sleep each night can keep you prepared to work all day, and stay away from those nasty colds.
