It's hard to get into an exercise routine when you're taking care of young ones. Lots of new moms vacillate from starvation to binging or spend a ton of cash on an expensive weight loss program or gym membership. Here are the top 5 do's and don'ts to keep you on track for losing pregnancy weight.

Many find that it is hard to go stop eating things they like immediately. Some people find that they have to gradually cut back, others find they have to do it immediately. After having a baby, to loose pregnancy weight you should set up a new menu for you and your family by introducing healthy recipes. As long as you eat healthy, it is OK to occasionally have a small reward to satisfy your guilty pleasures.

There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to a favorite sweet or salty snack in order to keep your sanity, but if you do it too frequently, you won't lose any weight. When trying to loose weight after a pregnancy watching what you eat is important. Instead of grabbing chips and soda, a more healthy snack would be a handful of almonds and a small glass of juice.

Yoga is a great way to stretch and rejuvinate tired muscles; according to those who practice yoga regularly. It's important to stretch before you exercise in order to prevent painful injuries to muscles, joints and tendons that are inflexible and cold.

Losing the pregnancy weight to turn that baby bump back to flat abs and toned arms can be strenuous. Therefore, stretching is key to preparing and protecting the body's muscles from the demands of movement such as doing Pilates or running after your toddler.

Give your workout a boost to burn the baby fat with some exercise Ball crunches or rubber resistance band bicep curls. Resistance training is an excellent way to losing pregnancy weight because it tones the muscles and therefore effectively burns more calories.

Parents can find that it is hard to get a full nights sleep with little ones. Sometimes scheduling nap time during the day, or sleeping when your child sleeps can be very beneficial. Too much sleep deprivation can have an adverse effect on your weight loss efforts and cause your body to hang on to unwanted post pregnancy weight.
